Who's Who:

Whatever you may think of this site, somebody worked day and night, had sleepless nights worrying about it when it wouldn't work!!! and generally got frustrated with it...that somebody was me!!!! So this is a little bit about 'Joolz'.

Julia Crask - Soprano Cornet and 'web-person'...!!!

Yes, this is me.....I started playing the Trumpet in 1978, whilst at school in Croydon, switching to the Cornet when I joined my first Brass Band, Lingfield Silver Band in 1987. A few years later I went to play for The Oxted Band, before moving to Hertfordshire and joining The Luton Band in 1992. With Luton I played Tutti and Repiano cornet, Flugelhorn and Tenor Horn. I also play trumpet in a local 'Big Band'.

Things on the 'Luton front' have been a bit quiet in the last few years - so I kept my self busy (in my spare time !) by 'depping' with The Hemel Hempstead Band and Rushden. Then in 2002 Rushden found themselves short of a 'sop' for a concert in Kettering - I was asked if I'd give it a 'go'. I did..AND I rather enjoyed it, so I became a permanent fixture!!

Alright - the above photograph is me, concentrating hard in the orchestra at school. Showing my age - I think the boys' name was Gordon, but his surname escapes me. Well, it was about 25+ years ago...frightening...!!!! This photo' was used on the front cover of the school (Riddlesdown High School, Purley) brochure - c. 1980.
