Rushden Windmill Band, Who's who

Who's Who:

Mike 'Foot-stick' Kilsby - Percussion.

Mike (left and doing a reasonable impression of Kevin Phillips-Bong! - it's Python thing...work with me), clearly knows the best place to be in the band room.

This is so he can:

a) be in the bar before everyone else...or...

b) make a quick exit to escape the MD's wrath!!!

(actually you can't do either because of all the rubbish, foliage and dog p** in the way!)

Anyway, short, sweet and to the point Mike writes:

'Affectionately known as 'foot-stick' in the band - Mike comes from a long family line of unsuccessful musicians - hence ending up on drums. Always a beat behind everybody else, he can regularly be relied upon to never add a touch of class to the Brass. Playing since the age of 13, some say he really should have given up by now!'

But I also know that he teaches in Kettering somewhere, often plays in shows in the locality AND he played with the Luton Band for a while ('cos' I was there!). Mike joined the 'Windmill' band in 2006 AND despite what he says - he's actually rather good.

'Foot-stick' - 'foot' and 'stick' - geddit!...

..and again - you must have it by now!

Mike sent me this one from his own, private, collection (look at all the dust on those cymbals!) - with all his 'paraphernalia' doing a show!
