Rushden Windmill Band, Who's who

Who's Who:

Ian Williams - 3rd Cornet.

A real 'journeyman' - Ian used to play baritone - then switched 'cos' we needed a back row player.

Ian is even known to compose a little - a little piece called 'The Windmill'.

And - what about this 'photo' then...

Ian (pictured: far right!) writes:

"Thought you might like to see the attached 'piccie' that I came across.

The paper was The Hayes Gazette and the date...17th November 1964...I was 16 here and the big story was of "Father and three sons in same band"

You see I haven't always looked this old.

Oh yes, OK, I've got a Beatle haircut......it was the fashion!"

The band was actually the 'Hayes & Harlington Silver Band' - which over the years has 'morphed' into the current Denham Brass Band (which I think is now in Buckinghamshire) via the Hillingdon Borough Band.

Ian - looking like a Beatle? - I think he might just have a point there.....!
