Rushden Windmill Band - 1977.

This picture was sent to me by Mark Napper (see below) - he writes:

 

'Hi Joolz, greetings from Hamburg. I found this from 1977. I think this is the first picture with the new uniforms. This I am fairly sure of as, I was in the band when we changed names and uniforms at half time during a concert at "The Mill" God save us from 'piccies' from the 70's, I look like a girl! I think Jack (if you want more volume I will take my teeth out) Hobbs was also on Bass at the time but he is not in this photo'. As I remember it, the personnel was as follows: MD: Peter Kneale. Back Row Cornets (L - R): Paul Stevens, Barry Osbourne, Sue Wilton (Parkinson), Mark Napper (yes that is me!), John Dennison, Laurence Mayer (Larry's son), John Higgins Front Row Cornets (L - R): Dave Twitchings, Jane Baish (Nichols), cannot remember, though I think he was from the Hitchin Band, Maggie Robinson (Betts). Trombones (L - R): Larry Mayer, Alan Nichols? John Baish? Basses (L - R): Alan Hicks, Peter Herbert, cannot remember! Percussion: Neil Veyzey The rest I cannot remember apart from Barry Turner on Solo Horn.

Sadly, Mark does look like a girl!! - but thank you for the photo' and names. If anyone can fill in the gaps please let us/me know.
