Grafton Underwood
21st August 2011

Grafton Underwood a small village outside Kettering once again held their annual tea party which was hosted by The Rushden Windmill Band.

This village lies to the east of the Boughton Estate and is about 4 miles north east of Kettering. It is a quiet little village, which in 1977 was designated a conservation area. Even the K6 red telephone kiosk on the main road, designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott in1935, is a listed building.

This was the 15th year the band has performed at the village which year on year is becoming a very popular event.

The morning's weather was a little cold and cloudy but once the time came for the band to play the clouds dispersed and the temperature rose to 23 degrees. The only issue we had was the slight breeze which was a little too strong for Gareths magnets!!!!!

Below is a list of the music that was decided for the Day

The Gladiator's Farewell (H.L.Blankenburg)
Lustspiel Overture (Keler Bela)
Breezin Down Broadway! (Goff Richards)
Whistle Down The Wind (Andrew Lloyd Webber)
Live & Let Die (Ray Farr)
Concorde (Roy Newsome)
Lord of the Dance (Frank Bernaerts)
Buglers Holiday (Leroy Anderson)
The Bass In The Ballroom (Roy Newsome)
Backdraft (Dave Stowell)
North Country Pastorale (Ray Steadman-Allen)
Watching The Wheat (Henry Geehl)
Fanfare & Flourishes (James Curnow)
Delilah (Brian Sanders)
